This is the Guinness Book of World Records for the most number of plane crashes in one minute. Born on July 6, 1935 in Calcutta to a prosperous and educated family. He completed his secondary education in 1951 from Sindh Government High School, Dhaka (formerly East Pakistan). He joined the Air Force in 1952 and was commissioned on October 2, 1953. His brother M. Shahid Alam was a professor of economics at Northeastern University and another brother M. Sajjad Alam was a physicist at SUNY Albany. He did a great job for Pakistan in the 1965 war. After the fall of East Pakistan, his family settled in Pakistan.

Squadron Leader Muhammad Mahmood Alam has the honor of shooting down five Indian Hunter fighter jets on the Sargodha front in the 1965 Pak-India war within a minute, four of which were shot down within 30 seconds.
